Private Creekside Home with Huge Potential and a Cherished History

In August, I had the privilege of meeting the owner of 243 Jacqueline Drive, a kind woman who had recently inherited the home after the passing of a loved one. The house was filled with generations of belongings, reflecting the diverse passions of an interesting man—from science fiction to spiritual devotion, and a wide array of DIY hobbies, as well as heirlooms from his parents, the original owners of the home. As you can imagine, the process was emotional for her—letting go of cherished memories while working to clear out the house and prepare it for sale.

Over the months, we’ve worked hand-in-hand to transform this space. It wasn’t just about cleaning and clearing; it was about honoring her emotions and the history of the home. Along the way, we've met some incredible, caring people who have made a real difference. From the junk haulers who were sensitive and understanding, to the owners of local thrift stores who were happy to purchase vintage treasures, but would also pop by the house to bring her a prime rib dinner or sit down to watch a movie with her to help take her mind off the monumental task.

All of these kind and caring people made such a difference in her life throughout this experience—the haulers, the plumbers, the cleaners, the eccentric sci-fi buff she sold boxes of books to, and my husband and kids who helped out along the way. It’s been a reminder to me that doing purposeful work in the world doesn’t depend on your job title. It’s about who you are and how you show up. Whether you're clearing out a home, offering a kind word, or lending a hand, the impact you have can be profound. As Joseph Beuys once said, "the new mysteries happen at the train station." It’s in the everyday moments and connections where the most meaningful and spiritual work unfolds.

Now, we’re in the final stretch—ready to find the right person or family to call this special place home. Nestled at the end of a quiet, dead-end street in the heart of Santa Rosa, 243 Jacqueline Drive offers the perfect mix of privacy and convenience. With a serene creek in the backyard, lush greenery, and mature trees, the home provides a peaceful retreat, yet is just moments away from all the shops and dining Montgomery Village has to offer. The house itself, set on a spacious 8,000 sq. ft. lot, features 1,500 sq. ft. of living space with 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. Originally a 3-bedroom, it’s brimming with potential, awaiting someone to update and make it their own. It’s been a long journey, but the possibilities for this home are endless, and I can’t wait to see it become someone’s sanctuary.
