Stella Heath Performing The Billie Holiday Project

Stella Heath launched The Billie Holiday Project in 2019, quickly selling out venues across the Bay Area. Now touring from the Pacific Northwest to New York City, the project will celebrate Billie Holiday’s 110th birthday in 2025 with a Big Band show featuring top Bay Area musicians and professional swing dancers.

Raised in the North San Francisco Bay Area, Stella grew up surrounded by her mother’s eclectic music collection, drawing early influences from artists like Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, and Tom Waits. After studying acting at Interlochen Arts Academy and Syracuse University, she rediscovered jazz while performing with Marjorie Eliot in Harlem. Returning to California in 2014, she began playing full-time with the Bay Area’s Bandjango Collectif, blending jazz, swing, and global folk.
